ACT 01 // THE HUSKY INTRODUCES HIMSELF
My name is Elvis. I am a Husky. I run an insurance agency in Boise, Idaho.
I have been doing this for six years. I am tired.

The audit gave me five things I did not know.
One. Proximity explains 96% of who shows up when someone searches near me. Moving the pin 5 kilometers flips the results. I cannot move my office. I can make sure that when someone within 5 km searches, I am the clearest signal in the pack.
Two. In insurance specifically, domain authority correlates positively with rank number (internal benchmark, Apr 2026 — ρ = +0.53). Positive means higher authority maps to worse pack position. The agents with the strongest websites rank at 8, 10, 15. The ones winning top three often have small websites or none at all.
This is the opposite of what the agency in a different time zone was selling me.
Three. My p25 is 8. That is the floor for pack contention. I have 6. To break top-3 I need 45 (the median). I do not need 445, which is the national average for top-3. Boise is defensible because it is small and saturated, not because it is dense.
Four. Review recency now weights 2.3x heavier than anything older than 90 days. A shop with 20 fresh reviews beats a shop with 200 stale ones. I had been thinking in totals. Wrong frame.
Five. My GBP is 48% complete. Top-3 median is 89%. Most of the gap is photos, hours exceptions, and the attributes section. Every empty field is a hole in the boat.
